As you know, David was not without sin, not by a long shot. But by and large he was a man after God’s own heart. Unlike his predecessor, King Saul, David repeatedly acts with integrity and humility. He sought God’s council and credited God for the many blessings in his life. But most of all, David was Israel’s Shepherd King because He obeyed the word of the Lord, the one true king, in all he did!
